Mexico government reforms: Senate votes to close transparency institute

Mexico's Senate has approved a motion to dissolve several regulatory bodies that the government says are expensive and corrupt.
Freedom of information activists say the closure of one of them - the National Institute for Transparency - is especially worrying.
The President, Claudia Sheinbaum, came to power promising to continue the reforms introduced by her popular predecessor, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
