Former US intelligence officer issues warning over Putin’s Oreshnik missiles
Former US intelligence officer Rebekah Koffler has broken down Russia’s new Oreshnik missiles and what threat they pose to Ukraine and the West at large.
The missile, which can fly at hypersonic speeds, is an ICBM which has been disguised as an IRBM.
“It can target the entire Europe and the west coast of the United States,” Ms Koffler warned.
“What's also very unique about this missile is it is very difficult, extremely difficult to intercept by existing US missile defences.
“It's also very confusing. It can carry both nuclear and conventional payload and so it's hard for our systems to discriminate what is coming and that is on purpose.”
