Heavy rains lash Sri Lanka causing widespread flooding

Authorities in Sri Lanka said on Thursday (November 28) that the deep depression over the southwest of the Bay of Bengal will “not enter” the island, and instead will travel close to the island’s east coast before heading towards India’s southern Tamil Nadu state.
