Preparations for 🎄 Christmas 🎅 Village in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel Azores Portugal 🇵🇹 - 27.11.2024

The magic of this season arrives in force in Ponta Delgada on December 1 with the start of Christmas activities that will transform the city into a real Christmas village.

On the day of the Restoration of Independence, December 1, the Christmas 2024 program begins with free caterpillar rides, from 14h00 to 20h00. Departures for this Christmas activity will be from the Monument to the Emigrant, located on Avenida Infante D. Henrique.

On the same day, the long-awaited Santa Claus opens the doors of his house, located in Largo do Município, for a few photos and moments of conviviality, from 17h00 to 19h00.

The French-style carousel and train in Gonçalo Velho Cabral Square will begin operating at 1pm and will continue until 10pm, to the delight of the youngsters.

To further liven up this season, especially dedicated to children, the usual bounce houses will be present on the south side of Largo da Matriz from December 1st, between 16h00 and 20h00.

As for the Christmas Market, it will open at 3pm and close at 10pm, offering a range of delicacies, many of them traditional to this festive season.

As for the carriage rides, these will also make their debut on December 1, offering another free and different experience to all those interested, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., departing from the Christmas Tree on Avenida Infante D. Henrique.

In Campo São Francisco, the Christmas spirit will be awakened on the first day of December with the Craft Fair to be seen between 1pm and 10pm and the Ice Rink available to use from 1pm to 10pm, free of charge.

Also on this holiday, there will be itinerant entertainment through the streets of the historic center, starting at 4:30 p.m., where the Traditions Association promises to take everyone on a journey into a magical world.
