Kazakhstan is a reliable ally of Russia, Putin said
Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that there are no problems between Moscow and Astana that could not be resolved. He said this during talks with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in an expanded format.

“Kazakhstan is our strategic partner and a truly reliable ally,” the Russian leader noted, adding that there are issues between the countries that require attention, but they are discussed and resolved.

Putin acknowledged that each side expects certain actions from the partner, but stressed the importance of striving to find compromises: "I do not know of a single issue that we could not resolve together."

During the talks, industry and finance were discussed, as well as security issues, which will be key at the upcoming summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in Astana on November 28.

— We came to the unanimous opinion that, despite the difficult geopolitical situation, bilateral relations are developing dynamically in an upward direction. Priority attention during the talks was given to economic issues. Deepening cooperation in strategic sectors and further increasing mutual trade turnover were identified as the main tasks. To this end, a package of intergovernmental documents has already been adopted, including the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Program for 2021–2025 and the Joint Action Plan for 2024–2026. Within the framework of the Interregional Cooperation Forum, an updated Intergovernmental Program for Interregional and Cross-Border Cooperation between the two countries was signed, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized.

During a narrow-format meeting with the President of Russia in Akorda, the head of state noted that relations between Kazakhstan and Russia are based on a very solid foundation of strategic partnership and alliance.

Vladimir Putin invited Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to an informal pre-New Year meeting in St. Petersburg.

Recall that on November 27-28, Russian President Vladimir Putin will be in Kazakhstan on a state visit, and will also take part in the next session of the Collective Security Council (SSC) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Astana.

Putin also noted the successes of Kazakhstan under Tokayev's leadership, calling them "impressive", and expressed joy for the achievements of the ally. He emphasized that the Russian delegation in Kazakhstan is accompanied by a large part of the Russian government, and thanked for the warm welcome.
