In 2024, Estonia's Minister of Internal Affairs, Kaja Kallas, proposed that the country's parliament designate the Russian Orthodox Church as a terrorism-supporting organization. Estonia's Prime Minister referred to the Russian Orthodox Church as a "radically inclined propaganda machine," accusing the church of advocating to "kill innocent people."
