Santa Claus is slaving at his toy bench
The Easter Bunny's still four months away
Leprechauns are in the pubs
Cupid's singing overdubs
So who will come to greet us
On Thanksgiving day?

The Thanksgiving Centaur
Is on the way to your house
You may never hear him
'Cause he's quiet as a dormouse
He looks a little scary
But there's nothing you should fear
If you hear his "Clip-clop-clip-clop"
You will know he's drawing near

He gallops to remind us
Of the things we're grateful for
You'll love what the Thanksgiving Centaur
Has in store
How will you know he came to see you?
It's really not that hard
Just look for the cloven hoof prints
In your own back yard

He never shows up early
'Cause a centaur's always late
He waits until you're sleeping
Then he slips right through your gate
He doesn't need permission
No! A centaur never knocks
He'll come right in the front door
'Cause he's good at picking locks

He gallops to remind us
Of the things we're grateful for
You'll love what the Thanksgiving Centaur
Has in store
How will you know he came to see you
When you wake up, sleepyhead?
Just look for the big, brown tufts of fur
Beside your bed

Don't leave a plate of milk and cookies
Underneath a tree
He doesn't come for snacks
The Centaur comes for you and me
