Today, in lockstep with authorities across the world, New Zealanders are being told that a pertussis epidemic is underway. It is always important in public health, to look at the entirety of evidence. What is the vaccination status of the "cases"? How are the "cases" being "diagnosed"? What are the risk factors of those cases who are actually sick and what measures could be undertaken that do not involve mass vaccination campaigns?
