Wicked's Defying Gravity duo, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo had one job: promote the movie adaptation of this beloved musical without turning it into a circus. Spoiler alert: they flopped. The two have been roasted online for their outlandish interview clips, leaving us all scratching our heads over what it means to "hold space" for the lyrics of defying gravity, and rolling our eyes at Grande's claim that the Emerald City is just one giant Pride Parade featuring flamboyant chickens. Can we please enjoy something without diving headfirst into the pool of gender, sexuality, and woke ideology?
