The beginnings of the band Block Out, an alternative band from Belgrade, are tied to the year 1990 and the cult Belgrade club Akademija, when Milutin Jovančić Mita. bassist Dragan Majstorović Trle (ex "Siluete"), guitarist Danilo Pavićević. drummer Dejan Dimitrijević. and guitarist Vladan Lazarević Laki formed the band AD HOC.

Since there was a group with the same name in Macedonia, AD HOC soon became Block Out. The following year, 1991, guitarist Nikola Vranjković joined the band, and the band then also got a new drummer - Miljko Radonjić.

Already the next year, 1993, brought the first cassette release Live KST Akademija as well as the debut album Crno, belo i srebrno ("Black, White and Silver)" which would also be reissued in collaboration with the music label Metropolis Records in 2000, with the bonus track Summer at Ada.
This album contains hard rock-oriented songs from the band's early phase, but also dark, depressive songs with heavy lyrics attributed to Nikola Vranjković, which would bring the band great popularity and cult status in the years to come.

The second studio album, Godina sirotinjske zabave ("The Year of Pauper's Party"), Block Out released in 1996 also for Metropolis Records. The album was recorded at Studio Akademija, and the main theme running through the entire album is the fall of socialism.
New members Aleksandar Balać (bass) and Dragoljub Marković (keyboards) also played on the album, and former members guitarist Danilo Pavićević. keyboardist Miša Savić. and guitarist Nebojša Zulfikarpašić appeared as guests.

San koji srećan sanjaš sam ("A Dream You Happily Dream Alone") is the band's third album, released in 1998. with songs that were predicting war cataclysm that hit Yugoslavia few months after the release of the album. The album was re-released by Multimedia records in 2004.

On their penultimate release, Ako imaš s kim i gde ("If You Have With Whom And Where"), Block Out effectively and impressively signals not only that it's not giving up on the idea of promoting integrity as the fundamental support of talent, but also that it has no intention of stopping on that path and taking a break even for a moment.

Beograd spava (“Belgrade sleeping”) is the band’s last EP, released in 2011. as a cover of famous hit of Yugoslav rock band U škripcu.

Block Out clearly explores further possibilities of its long-established concept, which occupies the territory between hard rock and psychedelia, between physical impact and the preceding mental command, between self-defense attack and warning. ( Aleksandar Žikić )

In September 2013, Nikola Vranjković left the group and started a solo career, which officially marked the end of Block Out. The remaining members of the band formed a new one called Čovek vuk the same year.
