Spiritual AIDS (Acquired Ignorance of the Doctrines of Scripture) Can Be Deadly

Being deceived into false beliefs, whether by another or through self-deception, is not new. Very often, the mechanisms used for deception create or tap into a desire that develops into a motive to participate in the deception. As Carl Teichrib, author of Game of God, recently explained in The Serpent’s Lie, there are three interlocking points built into transgressing God’s commandment. 1) Enlightenment, “your eyes will be opened.” 2) Self-deification: “you will be like God.” 3) Gaining wisdom through this special (Gnostic) knowledge, “knowing good and evil.”
