Encountering God Changes EVERYTHING!

Romans 13 teaches that obeying God’s command to love your neighbor as yourself fulfills the law of love. God’s agape love fulfills all of the vertical commandments—those toward God. But the other five deal with the horizontal commandments of love. This horizontal love is the biblical love which concerns our actions towards others. So, we can say that the agape love of God is a love by choice, which refers to the will instead of emotions. You see God loves us by His agape love—not because of anything that we did, but only by what Jesus did alone. When we repent and believe in Jesus, the love of God poured into our hearts to empower us to fulfill the law of love—we love the way that God loves through His empowerment to give that love to others. God’s love is more than you can handle!
