** In this soulful blues song, we explore the moment when the prophet Elisha prays to God to open his servant’s eyes to see the heavenly army surrounding them, ready to protect and deliver them from the enemy. Based on the story from 2 Kings 6:15-17, this song brings to life the powerful message of faith, divine protection, and the unseen forces of God at work. With its deep lyrics and rich blues sound, "Chariots of Fire Blues" reminds us that even in our darkest moments, God’s army is at our side, watching over us with greater power than any earthly foe.

** Original Bible Text (WEB)

2 Kings 6:15-17 (WEB)
15 When the servant of the man of God rose early and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. His servant said to him, "Alas, my master! What shall we do?"
16 He answered, "Don’t be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them."
17 Elisha prayed, and said, "Yahweh, open his eyes, that he may see." Yahweh opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire around Elisha.

** Lyrics: "Chariots of Fire Blues"

[Verse 1]
Woke up this morning, trouble all around,
Enemies in the valley, closing this town down.
The servant cried, "What we gonna do?"
Elisha said, "Hold on, there's a greater truth."

[Chorus]
"Don’t be afraid, don’t you cry,
Those who are with us outnumber their side.
Lord, open his eyes, let him see the fight,
Hills full of chariots, chariots of fire and light."

[Verse 2]
Fear was heavy, the night was long,
But faith stood steady, singing Heaven’s song.
Elisha prayed, "Lord, let him see,
Your fiery army, your victory."

[Chorus]
"Don’t be afraid, don’t you cry,
Those who are with us outnumber their side.
Lord, open his eyes, let him see the fight,
Hills full of chariots, chariots of fire and light."

[Bridge]
"Greater is He who’s with us here,
Than all the world, don’t you fear.
Angels in the hills, swords ablaze,
God’s mighty army, deserves all our praise."

[Verse 3]
The servant looked, his fear was gone,
Hills alive with Heaven’s song.
Chariots of fire, horses of flame,
The Lord of Hosts had staked His claim.

[Chorus]
"Don’t be afraid, don’t you cry,
Those who are with us outnumber their side.
Lord, open his eyes, let him see the fight,
Hills full of chariots, chariots of fire and light."

[Outro]
So when the battle rages, when you feel alone,
Remember God’s armies are set in stone.
Pray for vision, stand in His might,
See the chariots of fire burning bright tonight.
