From our Christmas in December album "We Made It" released 14.12.24

Have you experienced a white Christmas? A uniquely Australian Christmas song. Originally written as a yet to be published short story. Now adapted into a heartwarming song.

Summer Snowflakes

His knees grew sore praying for a white Christmas
But he grew up an orphaned Aussie boy
He was grateful for his bowl of cornflakes
But he longed for a hand full of snowflakes

Every Saturday night his Aunt
Would fill the bath with bubbles
So he could pretend it was snow
He’d lay in the warm water
And dream of a white Christmas
Until he began to shiver

He kept his room clean
Because all his bedding was white
And he didn’t want dirty snow
On and on his imagination would go

His knees grew sore praying for a white Christmas
But he grew up an orphaned Aussie boy
He was grateful for his bowl of cornflakes
But he longed for a hand full of snowflakes

When his Aunty took him for
A donut on payday the staff knew
To give him the one dusted in icing sugar
His Aunty always got the vanilla slice
And they joked about not eating the yellow snow
On and on his imagination would go

He wrote stories at school about snow
He drew pictures about snow
He loved watching movies with snow in them
No one knew why he loved snow so much

His knees grew sore praying for a white Christmas
But he grew up an orphaned Aussie boy
He was grateful for his bowl of cornflakes
But he longed for a hand full of snowflakes

He listened to Christmas Songs all year round
But there was never a real snow flake to be found
He loved having mashed potato for dinner
With the peas and carrots a snowman he would create

His Aunt sewed him pajamas that looked like a snow suit
He’d sleep with socks on pretending they were snow boots
He’d help wash the dishes pretending the bubbles were snow
On and on his imagination would go

On and on his imagination would go.
