PETITION FOR THE MORATORIUM ON GEOENGINEERING TO ITALIAN SENATE AND GOVERNMENT

In June 2024, Maurizio Michele Blo, president of the Comitato Nazionale Moratoria Geoingegneria, submitted a petition with over 10,000 signatures to the Italian government. The petition calls for a ban on all geoengineering techniques, both civilian and military, specifically mentioning cloud seeding and Solar Radiation Management (SRM).

The petition was addressed to the Prime Minister, the Presidents of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, and the Minister of Environment and Energy Security. It references United Nations resolutions from 2010 and 2016, as well as recent legislation from the United States and other countries, to support its call for a moratorium on geoengineering activities.
