A Florida man is in jail for impersonating billionaire elonmusk to scam a 74-year-old woman out of over $600,000. Jeffrey Moynihan Jr., 56, befriended the woman on Facebook in 2023, messaging her daily and convincing her to invest in fake business ventures with promises of a $55 million return. Authorities in Frisco, Florida, alerted police in Bradenton, about 45 miles south of Tampa, after discovering the scheme. Investigators found she had sent $250,000 to accounts tied to Moynihan’s painting business, believing they were linked to Musk. But officials say her husband has confirmed that the total loss has reached $600,000.
