The motet, “Der Geist hilft unser Schwachheit auf” (The Spirit gives aid to our weakness) is structured in three sections. The first, focuses on techniques of imitation between the two choirs. The second section is a fugue. The third is a double fugue in 4 parts. The final section is a choral “Du heilige Brunst, süßer Trost“.
