Michael Fish's NBC26 Storm Shield weather forecast
Today, the sunshine will slowly return as the day wears on. With an area of low pressure slowly moving east of the area, we still could touch off a few isolated showers, but it would not be a widespread rainfall. Highs will top out in the upper-70s to lower-80s, though cooler readings lakeside. Any isolated instability shower that may be out there this evening will end, then skies will just be partly cloudy with lows in the mid-60s. Here comes the heat and humidity for Thursday with highs in the upper-80s with sunshine. With winds that won't be that strong, it may cool down a bit near Lake Michigan as the day progresses. There's going to be a slight chance of an overnight storm on Thursday night with muggy lows in the mid-60s. Get ready for widespread 90s on Friday & Saturday. Dew points will climb into the 70s pushing heat index values to around 100°. There will also be the chance for a few thunderstorms, especially Saturday night.
