Pixie's 7th Day With Drew - Caucasian Ovcharka Dog - Caucasian Shepherd

Pixie is a Caucasian Ovcharka, also known as the Caucasian Shepherd or Russian Bear Dog. These first 30 videos with Pixie are a vlog-style series so they will make sense if watched in order.

I took Pixie for a walk before bed last night that ended around 2:30 AM. I put her in her kennel, did some reading, and fell asleep around 3:00. I woke up around 6:30 and heard Pixie moving around. Then I heard her whine, followed by the smell of 💩. I let her out of her crate and started cleaning up the 💩, figuring that she had let it all out (there was a lot of it). After cleaning up the 💩, I went to take Pixie outside, and there was a pile of diarrhea at the bottom of the stairs. I took Pixie outside. She went pee but no more 💩. I brought her back inside and cleaned up the diarrhea. Within 10 minutes, she pooped out more diarrhea at the bottom of the stairs. I put her outside and cleaned up the 2nd pile of diarrhea. Then I put some food and water in her bowls and put them outside for her.

I called the vet and the lady that answered the phone suggested that I only give her food and water (no bully sticks, treats, or the joint care liquid I have been putting on her food as a preventative measure) and to make sure I didn't overfeed her. She also suggested adding some pumpkin to Pixie's next meal. I called Pixie's breeder, Keira, and she told me the same thing the vet said and suggested boiled chicken to help with Pixie's bowel issues. She also told me that if Pixie didn't have a solid 💩 by the end of the day, I could bring her crate outside, put a tarp over it, and let her sleep outside (Caucasian Ovcharkas are used to the cold - their native area, the Caucasus region, is frigid. They have a double coat that keeps them warm). I left her outside all day and took her for a few walks, but she didn't poop anymore. I gave her some pumpkin with some dog food in the late afternoon. She was upbeat all day. I put her crate outside, put a tarp over it, and took her for a walk before going to bed at 10:00. At 10:45 she started barking a lot so I brought her and her crate inside.

When I uploaded these videos, they were five months old, so while I am open to suggestions, I have learned a thing or two since recording them. If you watch more of my videos, you'll see my progress.
