The Kennesaw State Owls made history on Sunday, defeating No. 24 Rutgers 79-77 in front of a sold-out crowd at the Convocation Center. This monumental win marked the Owls’ first victory over a ranked team in school history and only their second win over a Power Five opponent. Led by freshman Jamil Miller, who recorded his first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, KSU used a dominant first half and clutch defense in the final seconds to secure the two-point victory. 🏀💪

Rutgers fought back in the second half with a furious rally, led by their star freshmen Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey, who combined for a late 7-0 run. With 15 seconds left, Harper’s jumper cut the lead to two, giving Rutgers one final possession. However, Wooley intercepted a deep pass intended for a fast-breaking Rutgers player, dribbled to midcourt, and sealed the historic victory as time expired. 🎉
Stat of the Game: KSU’s dominance on the glass proved pivotal, with a +19 rebounding margin, including 22 second-chance points, giving them the edge over the Big Ten squad.

The win extended KSU’s home non-conference win streak to 16 games.
