IF THE ENEMY CAN DIVIDE YOU, HE WILL KEEP YOU DEFEATED

We've all heard the tagline: divide and conquer. Yet, we often overlook the reason for our discouragement or failure: we live a divided lifestyle.
James 1:8 refers to this when it says a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. In the Passion Bible, it goes on to say, "Can you really expect to receive anything from the Lord when you're in that condition?"
James goes on with the same subject in 3:11 when he states, "that fresh and bitter water cannot flow out of the same stream."
With that in mind, what set our sites today on how we can be single-minded with our eyes on Jesus. 
That brings the picture of Peter walking on the water to my mind. He sank when he took his eyes off Jesus and focused on the storm.
Let us be reminded today that Jesus, through the work of the Holy Spirit, abides within us and speaks to us regularly about everything we do.
Another voice out of our mind or soul speaks to us simultaneously. This is what the scripture means when it uses the term double-mindedness—a man with two thoughts simultaneously.
No wonder the Israelites were commanded to decide in the Old Testament what they believed. "choose you this day, whom you will serve if God be God follow him if they will be God follow him."
Wow, that sounds harsh. 
But the Lord was telling them this, and it's the same thing he's telling us today.
I can only help you out once you make up your mind about what you want.
As long as you're double-minded, you can't make up your mind about whether God is God or the world is your idol. That puts God in limbo.
I love Acts 16:31. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shall be saved.
Now that's the decision I can live with.
