WATCH: The Institute for Canadian Citizenship reveals new data showing that the most highly skilled economic immigrants are leaving Canada in record numbers.

Daniel Bernhard, CEO of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship, says, “Despite extreme pandemic travel restrictions, immigrants found ways to leave the country in record numbers, and despite multiple opportunities to return, they chose not to.”

“Highly coveted economic immigrants—people who are hand-selected for their skills and expertise—are actually the most likely to leave the country,” Bernhard added.
