I tested this about 10 times, out of those 10 times Spike spawned in the garden the most at about 4 times. Spike also spawned only upstairs in any of the bedrooms.

Places Spike Does Spawn:
- Outside (always near his dog house)
- Upstairs (all bedrooms he can spawn in)

Places Spike Didn't Spawn:
- Downstairs (Toilet, Garage, living room or kitchen)
- Upstairs (Bathroom)
