Sing Along with Good King Wenceslas

The carol Good King Wenceslas recounts the story of a benevolent king who, on the Feast of St. Stephen, sees a poor man gathering firewood in the freezing snow. Moved by compassion, he asks his page to identify the man and his dwelling. The king then decides to personally deliver food, wine, and firewood to the peasant. Despite the harsh winter weather, the king leads the way, encouraging his page to follow in his footsteps, where the ground miraculously becomes warm. The song concludes with a moral: those who show kindness and help the less fortunate will themselves find blessings.
