Gun Wrested Off Gang Member in Arrest Drama

A 31-year-old Head Hunters Motorcycle Club associate now faces several charges over the "extremely dangerous" incident which happened on Thursday morning.

In the video you can see a white man driving erratically on grass before the car stopped.Then a man outside the car reached in, pulled out the rifle and threw it into nearby bushes. Shortly The driver got out of the car and knelt down as police arrested him.

Police said family members were on the scene engaging with the driver and that the person who took the firearm was known to the man.
Tāmaki Makaurau Road Policing Manager, Inspector Juliet Burgess, said the vehicle failed to stop for police after driving at an excessive speed on the Southern Motorway near East Tāmaki at 7.30pm on Wednesday. As the Police observed the vehicle stopping in Glen Innes a firearm was seen inside the vehicle. Burgess alleged the driver pointed the firearm out the window of the vehicle while taking off at speed.

The 31-year-old gang associate is scheduled to appear in the Auckland District Court facing charges including unlawfully possessing a prohibited firearm, unlawfully possessing a prohibited magazine, presenting a firearm, reckless driving and failing to stop.
