"I WAS GLAD WHEN YOU SAID TO ME" - WHY SONGS ARE BETTER THAN SERMONS

If you were invited to have dinner with the president of your country, would you show up improperly dressed?

Would you show up empty-handed?

Or would you bring a gift, just as a way of showing appreciation?

When my wife and I go to someone’s house, even if they are close personal friends of ours, we always bring “something” with us!

It might be fresh-baked bread … it might be cookies right out of the baker’s ovens …

But whatever, we never show up empty-handed!

So, why do we oftentimes go to Church and bring nothing to the Lord? Even though He has everything, our gifts will be greatly appreciated, no matter how great or small they may be …

And clearly there is nothing that God needs from us … yet, He desires to have fellowship and to spend time with us!
