2 Thessalonians - Chapter 1

The epistle is believed to have been written shortly after 1 Thessalonians, around 49-52 AD, after Paul had received a report that the Thessalonian church had accepted the claim that “the day of the Lord had come.” Paul was probably in Corinth at the time.
The letter’s main theme is centered on Jesus’ second coming. Jesus’ return will be preceded by an apostasy and the appearance of the “man of lawlessness,” (often called the Antichrist). When Jesus comes, he will defeat this rebellious world ruler, and bring in the new age.
