Apatros Review Ep-0116: Nightmares [1980] ("Stage Fright")

AR-0116: Possibly the first-ever Australian slasher flick, this laughably daft horror [apparently the first Aussie film to use a Steadicam rig] has a mentally disturbed actress stalk her fellow actors performing in some three-quarter-assed theatre troupe in Melbourne [currently the Commie Capital of Australia, in case you're wondering], slicing them up with shards of glass while they are busy trying to get into each other's trousers...

A very stupid movie with some seriously sloppy plotting, but the kills are hilarious, including two female victims being cut up by the killer actress while they are in their birthday suits! Out in the middle of the streets too!

Current Australian DVDs from Umbrella Entertainment are fully uncut, so keep that in mind.

My Grade: D+ [Disappointing]
