Are we on a trajectory to nuclear war with Russia?

The US has given the green light for Ukraine to attack the Russian mainland with ATACMS missiles. The UK has followed suit with their Storm Shadow cruise missiles.

Russia responded with the first ever attack of a new intermediate-range ballistic missile striking Ukraine and threatening to do the same against NATO. Now the US is thinking over sending nuclear weapons to Kiev. What's next?
