Posted • November 22, 2024: Among the words that have completely lost all original meaning these last few years, in addition to "democracy" and "worse than Hitler," is the term "historian." It's not easy these days to find somebody described as a historian who isn't just a Democrat activist who happens to have once flipped through The Oxford Encyclopedia of World History while sitting on the toilet in a UC Berkeley dorm bathroom 35 years ago. With that, I've have come across another reason you might soon be able to purchase MSNBC with the change found under your couch cushions. The next Trump nominee that's giving Democrats and lefty media stress hives is Pete Hegseth, who the President Elect would like to be the next Defense Secretary. There is now a new item to list among the many things that have triggered the Left about Hegseth, and a "historian" on MSNBC said that one of the many reasons she doesn't think Hegseth should get the SecDef job is that he likes weapons and ammo (oh, and tattoos).

But one of those "weapons" is soap in the shape of a hand grenade. No, seriously: New scandal unlocked! Pete Hegseth sold soaps shaped like grenades. Wait till she hears about bath bombs! The Great Soap Wars have begun! MSNBC guest says Pete Hegseth is a far-right extremist who promotes "military-level" weaponry because he sold grenade soap. Soap is a sign of far-right extremism now. 'Historian' Ruth Ben-Ghiat says Hegseth is a far-right extremist because of his soap sales, tattoos, and support of ammo companies. "Hegseth has tattoos that are linked to far-right extremism... It's also interesting that he was making videos selling grenade soap." - "He was selling ammo. Now, of course, the US Military uses government-issued ammo. He was selling something not a handgun someone might keep around the house to defend." - "He was selling something for grenades, weapons, military level, you know, weapons." - "You know, people like that, extremists buy those things, military-level weapons. And they're not in the military."

"You know, Hegseth could be for those who want to radicalize the military and politicize it. He could be a bridge because of his views and that's very, very dangerous." -- Maybe MSNBC would be able to get their ratings back up if they were in the listings as a comedy channel. I am shaking and crying and throwing up at the sight of grenade soap. In the Left's version of PTSD the "S" stands for soap. I would hope that our next Secretary of Defense is into “military” stuff. Because that is kind of the job. The Left would prefer a SecDef who only cares about DEI and believes the greatest threat to the country is climate change. While we're on this subject, a quick personal story. I worked at a TV station for 20 years in a previous job, and when George W. Bush was president, Condoleezza Rice visited the station (she was at the time the Secretary of State). In my office on my desk was a sign that said "please take a number," and the number was attached to a pin in a fake grenade.

The Secret Service doing the advance work didn't find it as amusing as I did and asked me to put it in the trunk of my car until Rice left. Hegseth should also get one of those just to drive the "historian" even crazier.
