Record number of aid workers have died in 2024, UN says

More aid workers have been killed this year than in any year since tallies began, the U.N. humanitarian office said on Friday (November 22), with most of them killed in the Gaza conflict. Jens Laerke, spokesperson for the U.N. Humanitarian Office, said the deaths are “outrageous” and that he hopes the figure makes people “sit up and take notice.”
