I can't believe we are allowing this in our schools in Tennessee!

I've had it. Honestly, some days I just can't stomach what our children are being exposed to in the public school system. And unfortunately, Governor Bill Lee is selling his school choice snake oil as the fix, declaring that teachers' unions have all the power and have taken over our public school system. And some of you are believing it.

But I'm here to tell you that our 80% Republican General Assembly, that you've elected by the way, are the ones with ALL of the power to fix this, and fix it now. In fact, they could fix it tomorrow if they wanted to.

While the current school choice proposal promises to provide "choice" or some sort of relief for 2% of our student population, what happens to the other 980,000 students still in the public school system. Why must they continue to be subject to pride weeks and cross-dressing substitute teachers at the whim of bought off school boards and superintendents?

I'm trying to get you to understand that this can be fixed. Public schools are under the complete authority of the state. So the question you need to be asking is, why can't a supermajority Republican legislature and a "conservative Christian" Governor fix it? Because of the teachers' unions? I don't think so.
