Drunk and Angry: She'd Rather Go to Jail than Walk Away

On May 7, 2022 in Florida, Officer Gruba was on foot patrol on Duval Street when he was flagged down by security staff of a local establishment concerning a drunk, combative female. When Officer Gruba walked inside, security had the female detained, but due to her combative state, he placed her in handcuffs. Security staff told Officer Gruba that the woman had refused to pay the $20 cover charge and ran past them, towards the bar. When they attempted to escort the woman outside, she became combative, punching one in the stomach and swinging at his head but missing. They called 911, then flagged down the officer.
