The game follows the protagonist, Skif, a stalker who enters the Zone in search of artifacts and valuable items. Skif’s story parallels that of the Ukrainian developer, GSC Game World, who had to flee Kyiv during the Russian invasion. The game’s narrative is heavily influenced by the developers’ experiences, making it a personal and contemporary take on the Stalker franchise.
