OwlCam 2024 First Contact

I built a Barred Owl Box and mounted it in a tree in my backyard, hoping to entice some of the owls I hear each night to use it as their nest to raise their young. It has one 4K camera mounted inside of it, and one mounted about 12' away in another tree, which monitors the area outside around the OwlBox.

This morning right around sunrise a female perched on the front of the owlbox and a male sat on a tree about 10' away. Then they flew to the tree where the camera is mounted and mated.

Hopefully she will decide to use my OwlBox to lay her eggs and raise her young.
