In a recent hearing at the Lahore High Court, Justice Farooq Haider addressed a petition filed by Noreen Niazi, the sister of Imran Khan. In her petition, Imran Khan’s lawyer sought interim bail for the former prime minister in all the cases filed against him. The lawyer argued that numerous cases have been registered against Imran Khan in different cities, which puts him at risk of arrest at any time, thus violating his rights.
Justice Farooq Haider remarked that it is essential for the accused to present themselves before the court to seek bail. He further emphasized that if any cases were deliberately concealed, contempt of court action would be initiated against the relevant District Police Officer (DPO). During the hearing, reports from the Punjab Home Department and the federal government were presented. The Punjab Home Department clarified that no cases had been registered against Imran Khan in Punjab, while the federal government's lawyer revealed that Islamabad police had registered 62 cases against him.
This development marks an important chapter in the ongoing legal battles surrounding Imran Khan. Stay tuned for more updates on this case and other significant political and legal news from Pakistan.
