A new bill working its way through the legislator in Lansing would allow
Pharmacists to dispense birth control, removing the need for a doctor’s visit to
receive the contraceptives. The bill would also require insurance providers that
cover contraceptive access to also cover a 12-month’s supply that could be
obtained in one visit. The bill passed out of the state House with support from all the Democrats and one Republican, and could be advanced by the Senate by the end of the year. David Barr Michigan News Source.
