The Holy Way: Trusting God in All Things
________________________________________
Today, we explore the profound wisdom of two great saints, St. Catherine of Siena and St. Louis Mary de Montfort, and the words of the prophet Isaiah. Together, they guide us on the path of trust, perseverance, and surrender to God’s divine providence.
As we journey along "the Holy Way" spoken of in Isaiah 35:8, we will see how God provides for His faithful, even when the road is steep and filled with trials.

God Provides the Way and the Means
St. Catherine of Siena, one of the Church's great mystics, teaches us the beauty of complete abandonment to God:
"He will provide the way and the means, such as you could never have imagined. Leave it all to Him, let go of yourself, lose yourself on the Cross, and you will find yourself entirely."
These words invite us to trust deeply in God’s providence. In our human frailty, we often try to control every aspect of our lives. Yet, St. Catherine reminds us that it is only through losing ourselves in the mystery of the Cross that we truly find our identity in Christ.
Isaiah echoes this in Isaiah 35:8: "And a highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Holy Way; the unclean shall not pass over it, and fools shall not err therein." The Holy Way is not a path of ease but one of sanctification. It is a journey where we abandon worldly wisdom and embrace the wisdom of God, trusting that He will lead us.

Perseverance in Prayer
St. Louis Mary de Montfort offers a vital lesson on the necessity of perseverance:
"Only he will receive, will find, and will enter who perseveres in asking, seeking, and knocking. It is not enough to ask Almighty God for certain graces for a month, a year, ten, or even twenty years; we must never tire of asking."
This teaching reflects Christ’s words in Luke 11:9: "And I say to you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you." The journey of faith requires us to persist in prayer, even when answers seem delayed or hidden.
St. Louis continues, "We must keep on asking until the very moment of death, and even in this prayer that shows our trust in God, we must join the thought of death to that of perseverance and say; 'Although he should kill me, I will trust in him' (Job 13:15)."
This radical trust, even in the face of suffering or uncertainty, aligns us with the saints who embraced God's will with unwavering faith.

The Cross as Our Compass
The Cross stands at the center of our journey. St. Catherine’s words "lose yourself on the Cross, and you will find yourself entirely" remind us that the Cross is not merely a symbol of suffering but of redemption and divine love.
As we traverse the Holy Way, we are invited to unite our trials with Christ's Passion, trusting that through Him, all things are made new. The prophet Isaiah assures us that on this path, "fools shall not err." It is a path of grace, where even our weaknesses are transformed by God’s mercy.

Conclusion
Dear friends, the road to heaven is marked by trust and perseverance. Let us abandon ourselves to God’s will, confident that He will provide in ways beyond our imagination. As St. Louis de Montfort reminds us, we must pray without ceasing, trusting in God's goodness even when the answers seem distant.
May we find our true selves on the Holy Way, losing ourselves in the Cross and gaining the eternal joy of Christ.

Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the wisdom of Your saints and the truth of Your Word. Teach us to trust in Your providence, to persevere in prayer, and to walk faithfully on the Holy Way. Help us to abandon our will to Yours, finding our true selves in the Cross of Christ. Strengthen us in moments of doubt and grant us the grace to persevere to the end.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
