A 42-year-old man accused of decapitating his septuagenarian parents

A 42-year-old man accused of decapitating his septuagenarian parents was shot in while escaping the scene back in July 2024.

A cousin of Joseph Brandon Gerdvil reached out to 911 after recieving photos of his elderly relatives, Ronald, 77, and Antoinette Gerdvil, 79,“severely injured”. According to reports, dispatch were receiving calls claiming Joseph was spotted covered in blood, driving gold carts and chasing maintenance workers with a fork.

Police arrived at the scene approximately 20 minutes later to find Gerdvil roaming in the road. The officer got out of the vehicle and asked Joseph to get on the ground, in response Joseph began to walk toward him in a determined fashion and resulting in the officer shooting.

After falling to the ground, Gerdvil can be heard asking the responding officer to “finish me off” & “put one in my head, please, I beg of you” before singing some iconic Tina Turner and Stevie Wonder tracks.

Joseph was charged in his parents double murder, he plead not guilty to the charges.
