This is a wonderful addition to the “Working Man’s” series. Our pot roast uses ingredients that virtually anyone in the time period would be able to get their hands on. One of the most surprising things to me while I was cooking it was the combination of ingredients! This is spiced quite nicely with nutmeg and clove, which complinent the heavy use of acid that is put into the dish.
