The Game Awards Ditch WOKE! Veilguard and Star Wars Outlaws DENIED!

The Game Awards released their list of nominees for all their categories and long story short, it's a decent cross section of games from the year without too many snubs or obvious preferential treatment.

Black Myth Wukong getting nominated for Game of the Year was a shock to some, as was Dragon Age: The Veilguard getting shut out of virtually every category. Star Wars Outlaws received more nominations than Bioware's finest offering in years, according to the journalists voting on these superfluous awards.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Astro Bot are the most nominated titles and the controversial decision to allow Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree into the Game of the Year category are the other notable occurrences on an otherwise banal reveal. Everyone will tune into the awards for the trailers and announcements and perhaps an award or two. They mean nothing in the long run, but the lack of ideology is notable none the less.
