Acts 22:1-24 - They Said Away with Paul, He Is not fit to Live

After the Roman soldiers save Paul from certain death at the hands of the angry Jews, he quiets the mob by addressing them in Hebrew. In his defense, Paul recounts his history as a religious Jew and zealous persecutor of the early Christians, his conversion upon meeting Jesus on the road to Damascus, and up to the present day. However, the crowd again erupts when Paul tells them that God, acknowledging the religious Jews’ rejection of Jesus, instructs him to take the gospel to the Gentiles. “And they listened to him until this word, and then they raised their voices and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth, for he is not fit to live’” (Acts 22:22 NKJV)!

Pastor Kevin explains how this incident reveals another step in God’s transition from the Old Covenant (Mosaic Law) to the New Covenant (salvation by grace through faith); how then as now, the gospel offends those who pridefully depend upon their own works to please God; and how many signs in our world today point to the soon-termination of the Church Age.

Maranatha!
