This version of the song with Dylan singing lead was recorded with the "Basement Tapes" at the Big Pink House in 1967. It was not released however until 1975.

A better known version was released by The Band on their first album "Music from Big Pink" in 1968 with Richard Manuel singing lead. Manuel actually composed the music to Dylan's words and sings harmony on this version.

(I made an error in my video and identified Manuel as the bass player for the group. That was actually Rick Danko. Manuel played piano.)

Like a lot of Dylan's music, this song seems more timely today than ever!
