After serving 16 years for a murder he didn’t commit, Edgar Barrientos-Quintana was released from prison when a judge vacated his 2009 conviction.

Barrientos-Quintana had been sentenced to life for the 2008 drive-by shooting death of Jesse Mickelson in Minneapolis.

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty apologized for the harm caused by the wrongful conviction, CNN has reported.
