Amnesty International says weapons from U.S. allies are fueling Sudan’s raging civil war

The ongoing civil war in Sudan, which has lasted for 19 months, is causing the world’s largest humanitarian crisis.

Over 13 million people have been displaced, with famine affecting camps for displaced civilians and widespread famine-like conditions in other areas.

Outbreaks of diseases like dengue, malaria, cholera, and measles are hitting children hardest, while 90% of children are out of school due to the education system’s collapse.

The war erupted in April 2023 between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces after failed integration talks.

Despite international peace efforts and sanctions, progress has stalled, CBS News has reported.
