French farmers protest as Mercosur talks fuel discontent

French farmers resumed their protest on Monday (November 18), against the prospect of a trade agreement between the European Union (EU) and the Latin American countries united within Mercosur by blocking a motorway outside Paris. Tractors and police were slowing traffic on the Vélizy-Villacoublay motorway by blocking part of it.
