"Entering God’s Rest"

Have you ever felt stuck, like you’re wandering through life without finding peace or rest? Today, we’re diving into a truth that could change that forever.

As we explore God’s Word, we’ll uncover the key to finding true rest for your soul, a rest that doesn’t depend on your circumstances but comes straight from the heart of God.

James writes in the fifth verse of the opening chapter of his epistle, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

So, let’s ask God together for His wisdom to navigate life’s challenges. And, by all means, allow me to share some Wisdom for Today, inspired by Pastor Chuck Smith’s November 18th entry, titled "Entering God’s Rest."

Verse for Today
"So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’"
Hebrews 3, 11.

Thought for Today
The writer of Hebrews reflects on Psalm 95, which speaks about the Israelites’ failure to enter the Promised Land. They missed out on the peace and abundance God wanted for them because of unbelief.

God has always promised rest. Jesus said, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11, 28). This isn’t just physical rest—it’s a deep, spiritual peace that comes when we surrender to Him. When you trust in Jesus as your Savior, you are no longer fighting against God but resting in His promises.

Focus for Today
Unbelief can keep you from enjoying the rich, full life that God wants you to experience in Christ.

Wisdom for Today
God desires that we live peaceful, untroubled lives, but so many believers fail to experience the perfect peace He offers. Why? Because we allow doubt and fear to rob us of His promises. Like the Israelites, we let the giants of life keep us from all that God wants to give us.

If you feel like you’re still wandering in the wilderness, struggling with your flesh, and not gaining spiritual victory, God is inviting you to trust Him fully. In our unbelief, we don’t always trust God to do what He has promised, but He is faithful. He is saying to us today, “It’s time to enter into the Promised Land and take hold of the life I’ve prepared for you.”

Prayer for Today
Lord, may we follow You into that place of victory. Keep us from doubt and fear, and help us trust in Your promises. Thank You for offering us rest and fullness of life in Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
