Waste of money’: Failed Kamala Harris campaign slammed for ‘out of control’ election spending

The Harris campaign is facing criticism after reports it burned through $US1.5 billion in 15 weeks.

The New York Times reports that cash was spent on advertising, door knocking and social media influencers to gain votes.

It’s also been revealed Oprah Winfrey’s production company, Harpo Productions, was paid around $2.5 million dollars for a town hall, which is more than double the initial estimate reported.

There are reports Democrats are now “second guessing” if featuring celebrities in the campaign was more “showy” than “effective”.

Despite the “out of control” election spending, Kamala Harris became the first Democratic presidential candidate to lose the popular vote in two decades
