In another version of the story, Shani, out of curiosity or pride, wanted to test Hanuman’s strength and influence. When Shani tried to cast his gaze upon Hanuman, the mighty monkey god calmly wrapped his tail around Shani and began to crush him. Shani, in immense pain, begged for mercy. Hanuman released him only after Shani promised to mitigate his effects on Hanuman’s devotees.
