It's finally done. After 2+ years of editing in irregular spurts, it's done. The idea behind it is simple - what if I took my favorite parts of songs and married them to my favorite parts of movies and TV? This is the result. An 8 minute audio and visual mixtape. A montage of assorted music and video clips, edited to match the beat.

Chupacabra Prima Nocta was inspired by watching TV late at night when I was a teenager, and coming upon strange and captivating moments. I collected these moments on VHS for many years, dragging the tapes around as I moved from place to place. As I got older, I started to worry that my accumulated mass of captured media would go unused and ultimately forgotten. I was looking for a worthy project where I could pump out the best that I have, molding it into a kaleidoscopic fever dream of mega-bedlam.

I consider this to be my love letter to watching TV in the 90s and 2000s. All the little moments that brought a smile to my face. I've also included a brief 15 second interlude of old school TV hate thrown in for good measure.

Some of the clips in this video aren't from my tapes, though, as I bit off more than I could chew with the 8 minute runtime. I quickly ran out of 1 second bits of peak material, and had to hunt for further clips, which I captured digitally. Oh well. Nothing is pure.

Enjoy, you filthy coward.
